Midas-FPAMA Volunteer Financial Planning Team

In 2016, as a result of a grant from the Foundation for Financial Planning, Midas expanded its Financial Confidence & Coaching Program to include free financial planning guidance and expertise from members of the Financial Planning Association of Massachusetts, to whom we are also grateful.
Marybeth R. Breed, CFP®, Financial Advisor for Boston Hill Advisors, LLC

Marybeth is the Pro-Bono/Community Outreach Director for the Financial Planning Association of Massachusetts and is also a volunteer Financial Planner with Midas’ Financial Confidence & Coaching Program.

Marybeth is a Financial Advisor for Boston Hill Advisors. She has 30 years of experience in the wealth management industry, including 12 years at Heritage Capital Management and 12 years at Wainwright Bank & Trust Company. She has maintained both family and institutional client relationships throughout her career and has focused on financial planning, client service, investment management and fiduciary services.

Marybeth serves as the Pro-Bono/Community Outreach Director, The Massachusetts Financial Planning Association (FPA MA). In this role, she oversees efforts to support all pro bono initiatives, including partnerships with The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, The Massachusetts National Guard, Lawrence Community Works, and The Midas Collaborative.

She received a BA from Saint Anselm College, is a Certified Financial PlannerTM practitioner, and holds a Series 65 license.

Seth Corkin, CFP®, Wealth Strategies Advisor for Bainco International Investors

Seth is a volunteer Financial Planner with Midas’ Financial Confidence & Coaching Program, and a member of the Financial Planning Association of Massachusetts.

Seth is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM practitioner and Wealth Strategist for Bainco International Investors, an asset management firm in Boston. He works with individuals, families, and trusts to develop and implement sophisticated planning solutions in order to help clients achieve their personal and financial objectives.  Seth realized his passion for financial planning while completing his undergraduate coursework at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  After earning a Bachelor of Science in Personal Finance, he pursued the CFP® designation and, at the age of 25, became one of the youngest CFP® professionals in the country.  Seth is committed to financial education and volunteered as a Financial Coach to individuals in need of planning and guidance while a student in Madison, WI.  Seth is an avid and loyal sports fan, with allegiances to the Wisconsin Badgers at the collegiate level, and his hometown Boston teams at the professional level.  In his spare time, he enjoys painting, drawing, and spending time with his family and friends.  

Stephen F. Curran, CFP®, Financial Advisor for Boston Hill Advisors, LLC

Stephen is a volunteer Financial Planner with Midas' Financial Confidence & Coaching Program, and a member of the Financial Planning Association of Massachusetts.

Stephen has over 25 years of experience in wealth management.  Stephen focuses on the breadth of advisory services including financial planning, investment management, fiduciary services and tax planning.  He also offers broad knowledge in the areas of retirement and estate planning.  Prior to joining Boston Hill Advisors,  Stephen served as VP and Trust Officer at Beverly National Bank.  During his 19 year tenure at Beverly National Bank, Stephen's roles also included oversight of Trust Operations and Tax Services.  Stephen serves as the Treasurer on the Board of Beverly Bootstraps.  He has also served on Board of the YMCA of the North Shore and the Pillsbury Foundation. 

Beata Dragovics, CFP®, CEP®, Financial Advisor & Principal of Freedom Trail Financial

Beata is a volunteer Financial Planner with Midas' Financial Confidence & Coaching Program, and a member of the Financial Planning Association of Massachusetts.

Beata was born in a suburban town near Budapest, Hungary. Raised in a family of entrepreneurs she was encouraged to travel to foreign countries and learn languages. While in high school, the Berlin wall fell, opening up opportunities and she attended Budapest Business School. Through a co-operation with the Manchester Metropolitan University in England she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. She arrived in Boston 15 years ago and earned her CFP® certification with the College for Financial Planning®.  After spending more than 10 years with Ameriprise she founded Freedom Trail Financial, a wealth management and financial planning firm in Boston. Beata feels this transition allowed her to better serve her clients’ needs and give them more detailed and personalized service. When not providing financial planning and investment consulting, Beata enjoys travelling to Hungary to spend time with her family. She also enjoys practicing yoga, running, hiking, trying new restaurants and visiting the theater. 

Shaun Erickson, CFP®, Partner of Single Point Partners

Shaun is a volunteer Financial Planner with Midas' Financial Confidence & Coaching Program, and a member of the Financial Planning Association of Massachusetts.

As a finance major at Bentley College, Shaun began to build skills that have allowed him to help clients understand the financial impact of their decisions. Getting his start in the financial services industry in 2001, Shaun developed an understanding of the business of financial planning and founded Single Point Partners in 2012. His company was born from the idea of being a "single point of contact" for clients with a great network of experts and resources and an important focus on researching, vetting, and collaborating with various professionals and services for clients. In Shaun’s own words: “My clients utilize me as a partner to help them feel comfortable with the decisions they make in life.” While Shaun’s clients are spread across the country, he lives in Boston with his wife and their three children. 

Julia Sorkin, CFP®, Client Advisor with Boston Private Wealth

Julia is a volunteer Financial Planner with Midas' Financial Confidence & Coaching Program, and a member of the Financial Planning Association of Massachusetts.

Julia is a Client Advisor with Boston Private Wealth. She works closely with colleagues and clients’ external advisors to provide thoughtful investment and wealth management solutions, incorporating each client’s investment objectives with retirement, philanthropic, estate, and tax planning strategies. Julia received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics/Business and Psychology from Lafayette College and a Master of Business Administration from Villanova University. She also holds the Certified Financial PlannerTM professional designation. Outside of work, Julia enjoys traveling, hiking, and skiing. She also volunteered with Big Brothers Big Sisters for 6 years and is currently involved with the Friends of the Red Cross.
